NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

On Behalf of the Executive Committee of the Strathroy United Football Club (SUFC), the Annual General Meeting is set for Monday, November 7th, 2016 at 7:30 pm at the:

Ricco Foods Soccer Clubhouse

189 York Street

Strathroy, Ontario, Canada

 

All SUFC Members are encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting. The Agenda and relevant meeting materials shall be made available on this web page by November 1st, 2016.

As stated in the By-laws of the club, Membership is defined as:

  • Registered players, parents and guardians of registered players, registered coaches, assistant coaches, and managers, Club administrators, directors of the Club.  Representative Team Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager, or Assistant Manager. Only members 16 years of age, or older, are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meetings.

  • Proxy votes are not allowed.

Nominations for the Board

Elections will be held for the Following Positions:

  • President

  • Vice-President

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • Registrar

  • Directors at large (maximum of 5) that will include the following positions:

  • Club Head Referee

  • Club Head Coach

  • Club Technical Director

  • Club Equipment Manager

 

A Director may hold more than one position.   A Director shall be 18 years of age, or older, and shall be a member of the Club in good standing.  A Director shall serve for a term of two years, or until his/her successor is elected or appointed.

 

Duties of Board of Directors

 

The Board of Directors shall conduct the business of the Club during the periods between the Annual General Meetings of the Club, and in accordance with the authority granted to it in the published rules of the Club.

 

The Board of Directors shall be responsible for the appointment and renewal of appointments of all positions within the Club, except for those positions elected by the membership of the Club. This shall include the appointment of volunteer and paid positions for coach and administrator positions within the Club's operations. The selection process and appointments shall be based on procedures outlined in the Club's published rules.

 

The Board of Directors may also revoke, for cause, any appointment providing that it has followed the procedures for the revoking of an appointment as outlined in the Club's published rules.  Individuals seeking a nomination to the Board of Directors must be nominated at the AGM.

 

Please RSVP for this year's AGM so we can plan for the appropriate amount of space to accommodate attendees, It is NOT mandatory to RSVP to attend the meeting.
