2018 Season Update & House League Rosters
Submitted By Admin on Monday, April 30, 2018
To the Strathroy United FC Membership,

SUFC has made the tough decision to delay the start of the U3-U8 House League Outdoor 2018 season until Saturday May 12, 2018 based on the uncertainty regarding field opening dates.

SUFC wanted to respect our members personal schedules and did not want to cancel dates at the last minute and continue to work with the Strathroy – Caradoc Parks & Recreation Department on opening the Henk Van Dyk Soccer Complex on York Street, The Cuddy Soccer Complex off of Head Street, and the Gemini Sports Complex in the North end of Town.  These fields all remain closed to the club and we hope the public respects this as well.

The longer then anticipated winter has Caused 90% of the Field delay and maintenance such as grass cutting, lawn rolling, irrigation, other forms of Turf maintenance that the municipality provides to keep our Soccer Pitches in pristine condition.  Player Safety is the Club and Municipalities number one priority.

The following is a list of Start Dates for everyone.

U3 First Touch Program – Saturday, May 12th, 2018
U4 – U6 Program – Week of May 14th, 2018
U8 Boys Program – Thursday, May 10th, 2018 (Creekside Fields)
U8 Girls Program – Thursday, May 10th, 2018 (Creekside Fields)
U10 Boys Program – Thursday, May 10th, 2018
U10 Girls Program – Thursday, May 10th, 2018

U12 – U18 Local Leagues – Schedules will be finalized over the next couple of days from the West London Soccer League as we are waiting on many London Clubs to finalize their start dates as the city on London and neighbouring communities have also kept their fields closed.  Tentative start dates is the Week of May 13th as of the writing of this article.

U8 – Adult Rep Programs – Fields are scheduled to be open on May 7th as of the writing of this article.

Coaching & Rosters – We encourage all of our membership to continue to check the website this week (April 30th – May 4th) for Roster Updates and Coaching Announcements as they Occur.  Again this year we are still trying to fill a number of Coaching Spots and hope to do so in advance of the start of the season.
