U8 - U12 Learn to Train Course (April 11th & 12th - West Middlesex Memorial Arena)
Submitted By Club Head Coach on Friday, March 27, 2015
The Strathroy Soccer / OSA Learn to Train Course has been setup on the Coach Centre Website and we are asking all of the Coaches that will be attending to please register as soon as possible as only 30 spaces are available

The Course will run on the following dates:
Day #1 Apr 11, 2015 09:00 to 5:00pm
Day #2 Apr 12, 2015 09:00 to 5:00pm
Location: West Middlesex Memorial Arena, Strathroy, Ontario

The Course is designed especially for Coaches that will be working with children in the U8 – U12 Divisions.  Known as the “Golden Age of Learning”, the Learn to Train stage (females 8-11, males 9-12), children should be converting their fundamental movement skills into fundamental sport skills. This stage is “The Golden Age of Learning” for specific sport skills, and applies to all soccer / sports players no matter what level they participate in.

Children in the Learn to Train stage are ready to begin training according to more formalized methods. However, the emphasis should still be on general sports skills suitable to a number of activities.

As well, a greater amount of time should be spent training and practicing skills than competing.  This is why it was important for the board to implement a more formalized practice time for our membership.

As mentioned earlier the cost of this course is $225.00, however it will be free for all registered Strathroy – Caradoc Minor Soccer Coaches.  Your board recognizes the time and effort you put in to helping our membership out through volunteering your time as a Coach and we thank you for that, and hope that you will value this course just as much as the other members of our club that have already taken the Learn to Train Course.

All we ask is that you fill out your profile and register on the Coach Centre website: www.coachcentre.ca then pick the appropriate course (Learn to Train) enter in the district (EMSA) and finally click search and you will see the course located under Middlesex United.

After you have registered your will receive an email confirming your registration and you will be all setup.  Once again we appreciate your time and commitment and hope to see you all on the weekend of the 11th & 12th of April.

Yours in Soccer,

The Board of Directors

Strathroy – Caradoc Minor Soccer Association
