National Coaching Certification Program’s (NCCP) Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) Workshop

During National Coaches Week, the Coaches Association of Ontario will be hosting the National Coaching Certification Program’s (NCCP) Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) workshop on Saturday, September 17th and would like to extend an invitation for you to attend the course.  This course is being offered for FREE by the Coaches Association of Ontario (CAO) and the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc in celebration of National Coaches Week in Ontario.

The Fundamental Movement Skills of throwing, catching, jumping, striking, running, kicking, agility, and balance and coordination, form the basis for future sport skill development and for the life-long enjoyment of physical activity. Participants learn how to observe and improve the fundamental movement skills in order to maximize a child's potential and involvement in sport. This course is ideal for anyone working or interested in working with young children, including parents, teachers, community and recreation leaders and coaches.

After this course, participants will know how to:
• Analyze and identify the various stages of development for the fundamental movement skills
• Apply a six-step process to teaching the fundamental movement skills
• Create safe games where children can practice fundamental movement skills

September 17th– 25th, 2016 marks the second annual National Coaches Week (11th Coaches Week in Ontario) asking Canadians join together to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities. This week is an opportunity to recognize Coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach! To learn more please go to
