New for 2018 – The Game Leader Program
Submitted By Admin on Monday, January 22, 2018
The objective of the Game Leader program is to allow for an improved, child friendly approach to supervising small-sided games & practices for children U4-U8 and creating more opportunities for students, parents, and volunteers to get involved. The Game Leader program has been designed by Ontario Soccer Grassroots, Referee and Coaching departments. It is supported and endorsed by the Canadian Soccer Association.

If you are interested in becoming a Game Leader for the Strathroy United FC U3 – U8 Program please Register at the following link:  2018 Coaches Application

Some of the benefits to our Students involved within our Game Leader Program Include:

• Coaching is a great way to express your passion for the sport and be actively involved instead of standing on the sidelines.

• Letters of reference for employment opportunities

• Aid with Students to achieve the required 40 Community Involvement Hours within 3 months.

• Opportunities to apply for Financial Bursaries within the League and Associations we operate in.

• A Paid Position within the Club after your application has been received & reviewed and you have obtained the required certifications.

We have found that “Athletes Learn Best from Athletes”.  Player development is very important in our club, and regardless of the sport, athletes will best learn from those who played at a high level. Coaches with athletic experience are better equipped to improve player development in a way that parent coaches typically cannot. We all know that it’s much better to teach proper habits from the beginning than to fix bad habits later.  Our Technical Group will be overseeing the program and will help to train the Students in the methods that we know have success within our membership.
