SUFC Announces 2020 Outdoor Season Cancelled
Submitted By Chris Soares on Tuesday, June 16, 2020
Dear SUFC members,

In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and maintain the health and safety of all players and their families, and in combination with daily monitoring over the last 3 months of Ontario Soccer’s decisions and recommendations, plus a full review of our recent membership survey to see how our families, coaches, and players currently feel with this situation, Strathroy United FC has made the difficult and unprecedented decision to cancel the 2020 outdoor season.

It is disappointing for our Club, players and parents and the wonderful game of soccer but we as an organization 100% acknowledge, respect and appreciate the issue at hand, and the road we are currently on to focus on the health and safety of every one of us. Simply put, the game would not be fun amidst all the potential restrictions that would need to be put in place and all the potential risks that would be present if the season was to restart at all in 2020.

In regards to registration fees that have been paid for the 2020 season, Strathroy United FC will guarantee and credit all amounts forward to the 2021 season despite any increase next year. In the alternative, to obtain a refund of 2020 registration fees, please email [email protected] with the participant(s) full name and the email address in which the etransfer is to be sent to. There is no need to submit a Refund Request Form.

Regarding Rep uniforms that have been purchased, these uniforms will be held by SUFC to be used in the 2021 season and any and all matters concerning uniforms will be handled at that time.Although we regret to have to make this announcement, the health and well being of our membership is our top priority.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

On behalf of the Board of Directors at SUFC,
Stay safe and Stay healthy
